President Bola Tinubu has given the Nigerian Super Falcons the $100,000 he promised them in exchange for their historic victory at the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations.
After the squad won the tournament for the tenth time, Tinubu made the pledge to them.
In the championship game, the Super Falcons pulled off an incredible comeback to defeat the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco, the hosts, 3-2.
After the first half, Nigeria scored three goals thanks to goals from Esther Okoronkwo, Folashade Ijamilusi, and substitute Jennifer Echegini.
Morocco had a 2-0 lead.
However, the Super Falcons lost to Cameroon in the quarterfinals of the 2026 tournament, unable to reclaim their title.
Additionally, they were unable to secure a spot in the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.
