Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has lambasted the Minister of Power over the ongoing energy crisis in Nigeria, challenging the government’s explanation for the country’s unstable power supply.
In a video she shared on her Instagram page, the actress said she was frustrated by the poor electricity supply and asked the minister to name Nigerians who purportedly complained that the constant power supply was damaging items stored in their freezers.
Henshaw told the minister, “Mr Minister for Power, there is no light. It’s been little light. You people will bring it and then give minutes. It is gone.
“You were quoted as saying that in September some people were telling you to turn off the power because the things in their freezer were freezing.
What does a freezer do ?
“Like the lies you tell. I need the names and numbers of these folks that phoned you and said you should turn off the light or you should slow down.”
The actress also noted that Nigerians were still faced with unstable electricity supplies in 2026, saying that power often lasted for barely five minutes before switching off.
Many families are now functioning as factories, depending on generators and solar energy to conduct basic daily tasks, she said.
Henshaw expressed more displeasure over the issue, questioning why Nigerians were still dealing with inadequate electricity in spite of the passing of so many years.
She also complained about the high cost of living and the extreme heat, wondering why the citizens should suffer more because of the bad electricity supply.
The actress stated in a description to the video on her official Instagram page: General Agnes in Ghana said: “To hell with all you people.” What manner of evil do ye?
“With everything already so expensive, and with this blazing hot sun out there?? Wetin naaaa!!!”
