Chef Hilda Baci has slammed the mentality of individuals who ascribe her success to her partner, saying such statements are a reflection of how much societal attitudes toward women still need to change.
“I find the comments upsetting, not necessarily annoying, because they don’t take into account the work women put in to build their own careers,” Baci added.
She told Goldmyne TV in a video that the comments are a reflection of how people see women and their achievements.
“It’s sometimes upsetting but I think that it just shows where we are as people and what the mindset is,” she said.
She also said that she is deliberate about representing women and giving them opportunities to be successful.
That’s why I’m so intentional about putting in so much effort in expressing myself, representing women and simply providing other women an opportunity to accomplish better for themselves as well,” she added.
